Frequently asked questions
How many recessed lights does a room need?
As a working rule, 4 inch and 6 inch LED downlights spaced roughly four to five feet apart give even coverage without hot spots. Ceiling height, wall color and whether you want task or ambient light change that. We lay the room out before cutting anything.
Can you install lighting without tearing up my ceiling?
In most Colorado homes yes. Canless LED fixtures need only a small hole and we fish the wiring through joist bays. Plaster ceilings and blocked bays sometimes require a few access cuts, which we keep small and place where they are easy to patch.
Why do my LED lights flicker or buzz on a dimmer?
Almost always a dimmer that was designed for incandescent loads. LED bulbs draw far less current and need a compatible dimmer with a matching minimum load. Swapping to a proper LED dimmer fixes the majority of these calls.
Do you install outdoor and landscape lighting in Colorado?
Yes, including path lights, uplighting, soffit and security lighting, plus the outdoor rated circuits, GFCI protection and transformers they need to survive Colorado winters.
Can you replace a fixture on a very high ceiling?
Yes. We carry the equipment for two story entries and vaulted ceilings, and we can add a switched receptacle or a rated fan box while we are up there.
