Electrical questions, answered plainly

The questions Colorado customers ask us most, with real answers rather than a sales pitch.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can you get an electrician to me?

Emergency calls are dispatched immediately, 24 hours a day. Scheduled work is usually same-day or next-day. Call (866) 651-5242 and dispatch will give you a real arrival window.

Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or holidays?

No. Our emergency rate is the same at 3am on a holiday as it is at 10am on a Tuesday.

Are estimates free?

Estimates for planned installation work are free: panel upgrades, rewiring, EV chargers, generators, lighting projects and commercial installs. Diagnostic visits carry a service charge, quoted before we come out, because locating a fault is the work itself.

What payment methods do you accept?

Major credit and debit cards, bank transfer, and cheque for commercial accounts. Payment is due on completion unless a schedule has been agreed for a larger project.

Do you pull permits?

Yes, on work that requires them, which includes service and panel upgrades, rewires, new circuits in many jurisdictions, generator installs and most commercial work. We coordinate the inspection too.

How do I know if a problem is an emergency?

Treat it as one if there is a burning smell, smoke, sparking, a hot outlet or panel, water near electrical equipment, or a breaker that keeps tripping. Total power loss with neighbours still lit also means the fault is on your side and needs attention.

Why do my lights dim when an appliance starts?

A brief dip when a large motor starts is normal. Persistent dimming, or dimming across the whole house, points to undersized service, a loose connection or a failing neutral, and it should be checked.

Can you upgrade my panel and install an EV charger at the same time?

Yes, and it is usually cheaper to combine them. One permit, one visit, and the load calculation is done once for both.

Do you work on mobile homes, cabins and rural properties?

Yes. Give the nearest crossroads when you call so dispatch can route the closest crew.

What areas do you cover?

All of Colorado. Every city we serve has its own page in our locations directory.

Can you take over a job another electrician left unfinished?

Yes. We document what is installed, tell you what must be corrected, and quote the remaining work so it can pass inspection.

How long does a typical service call take?

Most repair calls are resolved in one to three hours. Panel upgrades usually take a day. Rewires run one to two weeks depending on the house.

Still not sure?

Call and ask. We answer technical questions on the phone without pushing a visit.
